NO SLEEP NIGHT
No Sleep Night is a picture book that my brother-in-law, the talented Layton Scarbrough, created a few years ago - I wrote the words and he illustrated the pictures, and it was a lot of fun to make together.
Back when I was in college, in the middle of taking courses on mechanical engineering and dinosaurs and Spanish literature, I took a really fun class on writing children’s picture books. This book was the result of one of my favorite assignments!
It’s about my overactive mind keeping me from that thing called sleep. It’s happened to you, right? Those nights where no matter how hard, how much, or how long you try, you just can’t sleep? Nights where your mind races with questions - like, how many days have I been alive? What’s that in dog years? Why are the sheep I’m counting all turning into pirate sheep? Looks like I am in for another long NO SLEEP NIGHT...
Written for children 5-8 (give or take 50 years)!
